Default Max Divine Boon Protter

Tried to think of a way to take full advantage of Divine Boon and the Divine attribute and this is what I came up with so far...

Inspiration 8
Protection 12
Divine 16

Reversal of Fortune
Mend Ailment
Divine Spirit or Guardian
Contemplation of Purity
Mantra of Recall
Divine Boon
Watchful Spirit
Ressurection Signet or Inspired Hex or Pacifism

Insightful (+5) Staff of Enchanting (+20%)

The problem with the Enchanting is the fact that Mantra of Recall stays on 4 seconds longer, but still it's not THAT big of a problem that you can't play this build with ease.

With high Divine you'll be healing 75 from Divine Boon and 48 from the Divine attribute for only 7 energy. And if taken, Divine Spirit reduces the healing to only 3 energy for 17 seconds (20 seconds with +20% enchanting), which allows you to spam Mend Ailment and Reversal of Fortune, healing 123 health.

Wachful Spirit is to be cast ONLY on yourself, unless for some reason you have full energy most of the time, then you can cast on others. The reason is if you don't have guardian the +2 regen helps you survive while you run around and when your spammed with hexes or just need an incredibly fast and powerful heal for yourself. With ONLY Divine Boon, Watchful Spirit, and Mantra of Recall on yourself, you gain 21 energy, remove 3 hexes, remove 3 conditions, and gain 493 health with Contemplation of Purity.

Crits & comments?

Overall, i'd say this is a pretty solid build. I see it working mainly for Random Arenas or maybe Team Arenas. For GvG or HA, maybe think of another/different energy management and replace Watchful Spirit.

Just a thought. Mantra is usually caste right before a fight anyway, so just have a weapon set without an enchant mod on it, then in battle use the set with enchant mods...

anyway, simple solid build. i like it! enjoy.

Offering of Blood is better than Mantra of Recall. Especially if you have a regen enchantment on yourself already.

Mantra of Recall is better in some cases because Necro doesn't give much else then Offering of Blood to a Monk, though Mesmer has lots of other great spells that can add alot to some Monk builds.

What he said! I didn't mention it in my previous post because this build doesn't have any other mesmer skills. (Except possibly Inspired Hex, but OoB + Holy Veil is way better than Mantra of Recall + Inspired Hex, assuming no other mesmer stuff.)

Problem with OoB is that at Blood 8 compared to Mantra of Recall at Inspiration 8, is that you'll only get 14 energy, and that's not including the cost of it which will only get you 9 energy. But with Mantra you can cast before hand which gives you time to regen, giving you the full advantage of Mantra of Recall's 21 energy at Inspiration 8. Even if you don't give it time to regen you still get 11-21 energy.

And just a short explination of how much energy you will get in 1 minute.

OoB 15 second recharge gives you 9 energy-- that's 36 energy in a minute.
MoR 20 second recharge gives you 21 energy-- that's 63 energy in a minute.

OoB is ok, but with this build MoR is far superior.

You forgot the 10 energy cost for MoR, and you are casting it 3 times in a minute. That knocks off 30 energy from the energy gain using MoR. So now it's 36 energy vs. 33 energy with OoB in the lead. Additionally, OoB has some nice advantages over MoR:

(1) It is not Shatter/Drain Enchantment bait.
(2) If you die and get res'ed, then you don't have to hesitate about using OoB.
(3) It is much less likely to be interrupted because the cast time is only 1/4 second instead of 1 second.
(4) Improved recharge is more useful for OoB. With a quick recharge on MoR, you have to CoP it off, put Divine Boon back on, and then recast MoR.

However, if you need Distortion on your monk, then MoR is definitely the way to go.

iQ ran monks with distortion. As a side effect of this the only viable energy management available to them was using both Drain Enchantment and Mantra of Recall, where they would usually use Offering of Blood.

Bolded for emphasis.

As for the OP build, it seems like a fairly standard MoR boon prot with a twist. But if you don't plan on using distortion, I would strongly reccomend you look at Offering Of Blood for energy.
